Elvis Jackson is a ska/punk/rock group from small country in Europe Slovenia. The band is active since 1999 and Against the Gravity is their fourth studio album. They use number of different styles in their musical creations. From ska, punk, hardcore punk, reggae rock and metal. Elvis Jackson was formed at the end of 1997 and had its first concert after only two practices. Since the start they are known by »crazy« live performances full of positive energy that stays with you for a lifetime.

The band had concerts in numerous clubs, halls and festivals all over Europe. They already made thousands of kilometers through Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Slovakia, Croatia, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. They’ve played with well-known names, such as Fishbone, Toasters, Looking Up, Burning Heads, Murphy’s Law, Vice Squad, Subhumans, Edna’s Goldfish, The Offspring, Asian Dub Foundation, Vandals, D.O.A., Goldfinger, Citizen Fish, Propagandhi, Ska P and NoFx.

Against the Gravity

Wow! What an energy! The album won me over in an instant. My first choice of mp3 player music for skiing and crosscountry/downhill MTBiking.

I’ve actually had a pleasure to see and hear the band live quite a few times. I’ve been to a concerts of rock legends like Velvet Revolver, Lenny Kravitz, The White Stripes, Fun Loving Criminals, The Killers,… and must say the live performance and the stage energy of band Elvis Jackson is something special.

That natural positive feeling really sticks and the whole show is an unforgettable experience… It happens often by punkrock bands, that quality of live show and performed live music disappoints you. But not Elvis Jackson. The band members are all great musicians. What’s more, they take their live shows to the next level and offer you an experience that you can’t get by just listening to the album in your Hi-fi system.

The album Against the Gravity is first choice in my mp3 player for almost a year now and I still haven’t got tired of the music. Against the Gravity is multilayered album. You’ll find sth. For every »occasion«. From songs with a lot of drive and surreal energy, to more laid back songs with that special summer, »surf feeling«. Album starts very strong with three »hyper« songs that will instantly raise your blood to prefered level for listening to Elvis Jacksons. The album calms with beautiful, calming Dry Your Tears. On this album it’s hard to decide for the favorite song, etc. First of many rememberable moments on album to me is dynamic Wake Me Up!, with great guitar passages. One of the peaks of Against The Gravity is »Not Here To Pray« that was also the first single. From the laid back songs I would point out »This Time«.

Album Peaks: Whole Album, Not Here To Pray, This Time,…

Don’t be the fool with prejudices, that thinks nothing good can come from small foreign countries. You’ll miss great musical creation if you ignore Elvis Jackson and Against The Gravity…

Familiar to: The Rebelution, Incubus, Pennywise, No Use for A Name,…
